These fluffy, buttery, and golden pancakes are a breakfast staple in the U.S. Super easy to make, they’re perfect for drizzling with maple syrup and adding your favorite toppings!

Ingredients (Makes 10-12 pancakes)

For the Pancakes

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ¼ cups milk (whole or buttermilk for extra fluffiness)
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

For Cooking

  • Butter or oil (for greasing the pan)

Optional Toppings

  • Maple syrup 
  • Fresh berries 
  • Whipped cream
  • Chocolate chips 
  • Nuts or powdered sugar

 

Instructions

1. Mix the Dry Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

2. Mix the Wet Ingredients

  • In another bowl, whisk milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.

3. Combine the Batter

  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients.
  • Stir gently until just combined (a few lumps are okay!)—don’t overmix, or the pancakes will be dense.

4. Cook the Pancakes

  • Heat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease with butter or oil.
  • Pour ¼ cup of batter per pancake onto the pan.
  • Cook until bubbles form on the surface (about 2 minutes), then flip.
  • Cook the other side for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

5. Serve and Enjoy!

  • Stack the pancakes on a plate, top with butter, syrup, and your favorite toppings!
