This classic peach cobbler features sweet, juicy peaches topped with a buttery, golden crust. It’s an easy, comforting dessert that’s perfect with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
Ingredients (Serves 6-8)
For the Peach Filling
- 6-8 ripe peaches, peeled and sliced (or 2 cans of sliced peaches, drained)
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (for thickening)
For the Cobbler Topping
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
For Serving
- Vanilla ice cream 🍦
- Whipped cream
Instructions
1. Preheat & Prepare Peaches
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a mixing bowl, toss peach slices with sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch.
- Let sit for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
2. Prepare the Batter
- In another bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Stir in milk until smooth.
- Pour melted butter into a 9×13-inch baking dish.
3. Assemble the Cobbler
- Pour the batter over the melted butter (do NOT stir).
- Evenly spread the peach mixture on top (the batter will rise around the peaches while baking).
4. Bake
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
5. Serve & Enjoy!
- Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
