Ingredients:
- 1 cup fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup sugar (or honey for a natural option)
- 1 cup water
- 1 liter carbonated water (club soda or sparkling water)
- 1 tbsp fresh lime or lemon juice (optional)
- Ice cubes
- Fresh mint leaves (for garnish)
- Ginger slices (for garnish)
Instructions:
Make the Ginger Syrup:
- In a saucepan, combine sliced ginger, sugar, and water.
- Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes until it becomes a thick syrup.
- Remove from heat and allow it to cool.
- Strain the syrup to remove the ginger pieces.
Assemble the Drink:
- Fill a glass with ice cubes.
- Add 2-3 tablespoons of the ginger syrup (adjust to taste).
- Pour in the carbonated water and stir gently.
- Add a squeeze of lemon or lime juice if desired.
Garnish & Serve:
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves and a slice of ginger.
