Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup sugar (or honey for a natural option)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 liter carbonated water (club soda or sparkling water)
  • 1 tbsp fresh lime or lemon juice (optional)
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves (for garnish)
  • Ginger slices (for garnish)

 

Instructions:

  1. Make the Ginger Syrup:

    • In a saucepan, combine sliced ginger, sugar, and water.
    • Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes until it becomes a thick syrup.
    • Remove from heat and allow it to cool.
    • Strain the syrup to remove the ginger pieces.
  2. Assemble the Drink:

    • Fill a glass with ice cubes.
    • Add 2-3 tablespoons of the ginger syrup (adjust to taste).
    • Pour in the carbonated water and stir gently.
    • Add a squeeze of lemon or lime juice if desired.
  3. Garnish & Serve:

    • Garnish with fresh mint leaves and a slice of ginger.
    • Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing homemade ginger ale!
